Isolate Wild Bird

scavenging blood rest chest
all life's battles written on hear peak
through the stormy weathers they say
color losses its touch
feathers deeper the skin
and like clicking metal the jaws shiver
all this an arriving crisis.

In her nature the DNA of a loner.
the older the day grows, the colder
the older she gets the braver.
One thing keeping her from flying ahead of the flock
as they migrate to clearer skies, a nest
newly ready for young life, she uses the last
of her warmth to breathe to her young
life. even if its for a day because the next to follow,
she flies alone, isolated wild bird.
