Victoria Falls

The smoke that thunders
A wonder of God’s creation
Alone and asunder
It stands as the hope of a nation
It rumbles, it roars like a lion.
From two miles away, you can hear
The echoes of the Zambezi waters
As they pummel the gorge below.
You can see the cold steam
Rise into the eye above
As though to tell the world
Of the pain embedded
In the rocks that carry this load
The tears that fall
Every hour, everyday
Are the blessing they give?
To a world that shuns
To see the good in the bad.
