Orphans Of My Dreams

I thought dreams always come true
But this time mine seem to tumble
Driving my heart into turmoil.
For love i try and keep the fire burning
To light up those pale faces of my children
To whom my dreams deny attention.

Sometimes I doubt my ability
To give my love unconditionally
For mine is bonded with dreams
Dreams that seem so real yet so far
Only imagination gets me closer
Yet close is never close enough.

For the love of my dreams
Oceans I have crossed and mountains scaled
On red hot ashes I have stepped
Blisters on my feet I mind not
For I wish not to disappoint, not only my soul
But not least, the orphans of my dreams.

Only four months old, I left my youngest daughter
All she knows is a picture of a man called daddy
A father running after his dreams
Time only will tell, if those dreams will
Be the cure of her lonely deprivation
I wish I will, in time give her time back.

Oh, my big girls, lovely girls they are
They used to stalk me, now i miss it
I never knew it could be so lonely
That unspoilt love, that true love that I miss
That is the fire that is flaming in my heart.
I can't wait to put them in my firm embrace.

For my boys, the treasure of my clan's survival
My dreams I wish they could carry through
My sins and failures forget, for when I am gone
My love will carry on, will shine on
Lighting your ways and dreams
For this orphanage that my dreams have established.
