My Wife's Surgery
My Wife’s Surgery By Richard Martin 447
MY WIFE’S SURGERY
I know you're worried about your surgery,
But things will turn out fine—
By Thursday, you'll be back home, resting,
We’ll take it one day at a time
There’ll be dishes, laundry, and cleaning
But none of that needs to be done today.
We’ll take it slow, one day at a time,
And do what the doctors say
I’ll cook and clean until you’re up and around
You’ve got your favorite TV shows and your phone
That’ll keep you busy most of the day
It’s hard to stay in bed, but at least you’ll be home
You know I don’t hear well, so I placed a Little button
Right beside your bed
And if you yell, and I don’t hear you
Push the little button, and I’ll come to hear what you said
And when you’re feeling well and can travel
We could go to the mountains to see your sister, Fay
And maybe to North Carolina to see my brother
But that’s a long trip, and takes more than a day
