When Time Stands Still

When I’m near you,
‎the world forgets to move.
‎Time holds its breath,
‎and I forget everything but you.

‎Your eyes are calm oceans,
‎your voice a quiet home.
‎You don’t even know
‎how safe I feel when you’re near.

‎You are light wrapped in kindness,
‎bound by faith and promise,
‎and I, standing just beyond your reach,
‎can only watch you shine.

‎I know I can’t have
‎what my heart dares to dream.
‎But still, in every heartbeat,
‎you live there quietly, beautifully, always.
