Solitude

I flex my wings
I'm ready to fly away,
Seek asylum elsewhere.
All roads lead me to this cave.
I hide from the melancholy
That evades my sacred space

I am recovering from the violation of my altar,
I will no longer make sacrifices
As venomous tongues lurk and
Wait to devour me whole
I hear their whispers as screams

They wait in packs ready to devour me
Yet they are insatiable,
Their narcissistic bellies rumble
From the dreams they consumed
Their perpetual screams ring in my ears
