A Letter I Will Never Send
You came into my life like quiet light,
not to stay, but to show me how deeply I can feel.
I never asked for this heartache,
and yet, I wouldn’t undo it.
When I see you, something inside me softens.
You remind me that kindness still exists,
that care can be given without taking.
You made me feel safe, seen, and alive.
And though I will never be yours,
a part of me will always be grateful
for the way your presence slowed time,
for the warmth that will echo long after you’ve gone.
I’ll carry you gently,
not as a wound,
but as a quiet proof
that love can exist, even unreturned.
