Periods
Her notepad gently
floats in the bathtub embrace
Whispering to her boyfriend that her
cycle has begun
Their evening bath, a tender ritual, on hold
She was shy
So she was busy hiding her stained pants
Along with her dull moods and grey attitude
Amidst the pillows
Another note lies silently -
Love's intimate dance deferred once more
Her boyfriend read it and went grey
Shy and almost ashamed again
She was on the balcony outside
And by the time her boyfriend read the note
She was outside groaning of crumps
This morning - her boyfriend
Was at the kitchen -
A note nestled beside a recipe tells it's own tale
Again she couldn't make it for breakfast
Neither could she make tea
With a dull mood and lost appetite
She was still catching up with her periods
And I hope her boyfriend is still gonna be there
For her - to hug her - and just understand
For this is a part of their shared life's rhythm
A part of their monthly life.
