Our Eyes Are On You.

Why are you taking us for fools?
Do you think we are blinded by your hypocrisy?
Do you think we don’t know your hidden character?
Did you think that your lies would never be known?
Did you think you would take advantage of us forever?

No, we have to stop all this nonsense
We have to awaken our collapsing state.
We have to fight back at all costs.
We have to save our poor nation.
We have to free it from neocolonialism.

Wake up warrior and open your eyes to see
Why do you fall asleep yet you’re on duty?
Arise and create awareness to the people.
Let them see the kind of leaders they chose.
But no, they didn’t choose them.

You fooled the citizens with your lies,
With your empty promises, they saw a rising nation
In fact, a prospering one but know see the disappointment
The frustration the people have found themselves in.
But no, this won't last for eternity. We have to secure the coming generation

You promised to build roads, educate the orphans and also
Raise the standards of living but to a great disappointment,
None of them has been accomplished.
Our mothers die before reaching to hospitals and even the
Expected leaders of tomorrow die due to inaccessible roads.

You preach against corruption yet you are the chief priests.
You embezzle government funds, billions and billions are kept
In the pockets of those in power while the common mwananchi
Is left with nothing to enjoy. We are no longer going to zip our mouths
But rather condemn your evil deeds.
Our eyes are on you and you have to pay for your deeds
