You Make My Day Enjoyable

For Abigail

The moment you saw me you began to act clumsily.
I noticed the sudden buoyancy in your facial expression,
And I misread your courtesy and your body language.
I thought you were trying to attract my attention,
And it seemed that you wanted me to initiate a conversation.
I felt that I had the opportunity to start a courtship.
You have the adorability that I like to see in a woman.

You looked at me bashfully when I walked in the store.
Your amorous glances gave me the wrong impression,
And I hastily misconceived your polite verbalisation.
I thought your affable smile meant you were glad to see me.
Pardon me if I desired more than our acquaintance,
For I did not see the wedding ring on your finger.
And I was just about to say, you make my day enjoyable.
