That Same Old Familiar Line

After we dance, there’s a chance that you might want to spend a little more time with me.
So I’m trying to find some new words to say to you before the evening is through.

I’m thinking hard, but darling, even though I’m making my best effort,
I still can’t come up with something nicer than, “I love you.”

I hope you won’t mind me repeating that same old familiar line,
You know the one that so many happy people in love often say.

Darling, I know that when I get close to you, I’ll end up saying, “I love you.”
I want to tell you sweet words that you’ve never heard before.

But I guess there’s nothing sweeter to say to a special person than, “I love you.”
So tonight, I’m depending on that same old familiar line to capture your precious heart.
