Our Last Goodbye

Here’s a bunch of flowers for you, my darling
Though you’re critically ill, you show no fear
You stare death in the face courageously
I’ll stay by your side until they lay you to rest
And I’ll put a wreath of red roses on your grave

The breath of life will soon leave your body
Sadly, you may not be with us tomorrow
Your loved ones weep over you in the room,
But not a drop of tear falls from your eyes
I’ll miss you and I won’t hold back my tears

It’s so sad to lose the only woman I love dearly
You’re my loving wife and my true friend
We vowed not to part until the day we die
Now we must say our last goodbye, my darling
I’ll kiss you before you take your last breath
