Broken Vows

Once a serenade,
Once a clear picture to paint.
Now it's grenades,
And plenty of memories that fade.

You used to be so free in my presence,
Now you just flee and are ever so absent.
From better and sweeter treats,
To silence and bitter tricks.

Now my days are spent by the lake,
Thinking about the vows we made.
Such trees no wind could shake,
But i'm starting to think all was fake.

I was never the one to hurt you,
Thought you would never desert me.
A part of my mind was deceived,
A piece of my heart never forgives.
