Rush Of The Day

Ah what a din’ this is,

Horns honking, mouths shouting , fists clenched in the air, people running, jumping up and down on the road

Tires screeching; drivers braking hard not wanting to bump into each other

A driver studying the headlines before buying the daily paper oblivious of the incessant hooting behind

Persons being picked up, squeezing in the littlest space available and others alighting

Ah all the mayhem,

Sweet and toy vendors trying to coerce passengers with their salesman skills, all trying to get their daily bread

Children in school uniforms held by their hands, scurried away in the midst of cars weaving around lanes

A zebra crossing, a pedestrian bridge just a few metres away, ignorant of safety all are in a rush to make up for minutes lost

Helter skelter all rushing to their destinations, who knows how many will make it in one piece,

Ah what a din’ this is.
