The Promise

The great promises
Great like the Roman emperor
By them we live
By them we rise
No worry therein
That ever come to fall

You found her
Sat on the bamboo seat
Weary and raptured
Had no solace
Promised to walk besides her

She found solace in you
Her worries lasted
Her tears dried
Wiped by your promise
She had no contrary thought

Had she thought different
About your cunning tongue
No mercy in you
You lied to her
No future in you!
You lived your life
