One Step Through Hope

The clouds, far away spread
No stars, no light from the moon
Seemed totally dark
From the streets, deep in the room
We walked a stride by foot
No shoes, no sandals
Just like that

Spines and thorns
All over bodies bruised
Blood from the veins
Their way they flowed
Like a river to the streams
They made their way

No time to rest
No time to waste
Fast we were walking
Our legs limping
Swollen like a baobab
That day , ever worst to recall

The highlands were far
Nowhere to be seen
When we came near
Our bodies almost worn
Nevertheless, our hope still full
