Quod Autem Scriptum Est

The words we speak
Have the power
To build or to destroy
To make or mar

And when spoken
Like the air we emit
Can never be recalled
Like the waves of the sea
That ripples send
Waves upon waves in the ocean deep

In his cunning the strong man
May've said he's done and would retire
To his business to confuse his detractors or showcase
His altruism and selflessness to his ardent foot soldiers
But the words went out Carried by the waves Though given as a mechanism of defense and self preservation;

What's said has been said
Quod autem scriptum est:
What's written is written
The afterthoughts, like medicine after death,
Never would upturn the words uttered
This marks the beginning of the end and obliteration
Of beautiful legacies which would've outlived him.
