Love

I keep searching
Like Bongos
Seeking for comfort
Everyday
Everywhere
Thinking
That one day
My luck will shine
And I'd find
Someone that'd love
The songs I sing
And recite the lyrics
I pour out
Of the deepest part of my soul
The love songs
I sing for love,
For humanity.

My search yields
Disillusionment as love
Has become a scarce commodity
To be gotten by the highest bidders
It's degree
Depends on how much
You're willing to part with.

Poet's note: True love and companionship are rare in the world now. People declare love but soon betray the people they said they loved. These days women profess love to men but if the man is unable to meet their financial needs they switch to others who are rich. Lucky Dube would say: "No truth in the world."
