I'm certain
That one day
I would make it
I would sit me
At the top of the ladder

Motivating those below
To come up to the top
To enjoy the cool breeze
And to share with me
The joy of being atop;

One day, just one day
Admirers would get elated
By these words that I string
Together like a bead maker
Savouring the exhilarating and sweet
Words I crafted together;

That day wherever I am
I'd wear a smile on my face
And look back at those days
When enemies mocked
And had good laughter at my expense;

One day, that day
I would tell the world
It gets tough
Before it gets better
And the need to stick it out
Until that dream comes true
The mission is accomplished
And the goal is accomplished.
