The Moon Is Distant From The Sea
429
The Moon is distant from the Sea-
And yet, with Amber Hands-
She leads Him-docile as a Boy-
Along appointed Sands-
He never misses a Degree-
Obedient to Her Eye
He comes just so far-toward the Town-
Just so far-goes away-
Oh, Signor, Thine, the Amber Hand-
And mine-the distant Sea-
Obedient to the least command
Thine eye impose on me-
