The Manner Of Its Death

The Manner of its Death
When Certain it must die-
'Tis deemed a privilege to choose-
'Twas Major Andre's Way-
When Choice of Life-is past-
There yet remains a Love
Its little Fate to stipulate-
How small in those who live-
The Miracle to tease
With Bable of the styles-
How “they are Dying mostly-now”-
And Customs at “St. James”!
Emily Dickinson
