Broken Hearted

So many nights I cried
thinking if you still care.
So many thoughts of
you that I can't seem to forget.

My tears are falling like
raindrops on the ground,
where I kneeled to God asking why
this keeps happening to me.

I tried to forget you.
I tried to move on.
But it is so hard to forget
someone you once loved.

You healed my heart,
but the moment I told
you my weaknesses;
you used them against me.

Now I'm left to heal my
own broken heart.
I have to pick the pieces
up, one by one, to get through the day.

Not only have I cared,
but I loved you.
This is the end of us,
but a beginning of something new.

Poet's note: I wrote this poem the 13th of July 2020. I didn't write the poem for anyone in specific. Everyone gets a broken heart and they can't handle it when the only thing controling their minds is pain. Everytime I read this poem it makes me feel the pain, but now I know that pain only makes us stronger even when we feel weak.
