The Noisy Silence

Quiet as you are,
Your silence roars in my ears.
With my eyes closed,
Dreams bring you to me.
Far away you might be,
But my thoughts bring you close to me.
Your memory fades not,
Your grave reminds me of you.
You are silent,
And this silence is Noisy for me!

Life has lost its meaning
Without you,
I am drowned in my own thoughts.
I hate looking at the moon,
For it reminds me of you.
I hate the sun too,
For it is the only thing
That compares to you.

Silence haunts my nights,
Cold winds share my bedside.
Am sick and tired of this silence,
For it is starting to haunt me
Reminding me of my life without you.

Poet's note: Cancer claimed half of my family, I lost my sister Apolot Barbra to leukemia, my grandma Teddy to cancer of the colon and my brother DMC Martin Opolot to the same disease! I couldn't handle their absence and silence. I wrote this poem down in 2015 to eulogise them. May their souls rest in peace. I will forever miss them.
