Two Missed Calls

The First,
Not loud enough, blocked signals,
40 seconds of ringing,
"It'll ring again," He'd hope,
After long enough waiting.
Taking too long, tested patience,
Minutes to hours, hours to days--
He called back to find out,
And now the line was busy.

The Second,
"In a call, please call later or wait"
The automated response template,
He was busy---another missed call,
This time he'd call back in an instant.
"Disconnected number," Impossible!
Heavens why? Is my fate fast-sealable?
He'd cry, and blame the connection,
Oblivious of the unseen concession.
