The Mirror Effect 3

A bottle of liquor is cheaper,
cheaper than an event I can't see.
I will drink to the ground until
my eyes close for hours and not
forever.
Drown myself in a pool of whiskey
to avoid the depth of the sea.
I will go high and high beyond the
sky, because I'm afraid of heights.
I will blow off steam and spare my
cracked head.
And sleep with no memory of yesterday
and no plans for tomorrow but
I will not sleep forever with neither.
I've lost sight but there's still
something to hold on to.
Time is still a healer and a chance giver,
so I will sit, smoke a cigar and
look in a mirror.
And I will find myself within the ashes
of the past and the only thing I will
need is a reminder from the mirror.
