Thief

Marlon Pitter

I believe that there’s a thief in this yard.
Somebody went in my house and stole my money.
I didn’t catch the person red-handed,
So I don’t know for sure who the culprit is.

Everyone who lives on the premises is a suspect,
But the prime suspect is a teenage boy.
It doesn’t appear that it was a prowler.
So it must have been a tenant of the yard.

The bad-minded tenants are envious of my success.
Furthermore, they covet my possessions.
The nasty Negro who stole my money won’t prosper.
I don’t trust sneaky rats, so I changed the locks.

You stole my money because you were hungry.
The money that you stole from me will soon finish,
And you’ll soon be hungry again for sure.
You won’t stop stealing until you lose your life.
