He Died For Money

Kevin Wakili

An expensive tomb it ment.
adjacent to his she lay:
his consort she was or was it?

Faintly she queried why he followed so soon.
Astronomical was his repression to saying,
'not even death could do them apart'
could he?

Not anymore.
"For money,"he retorted
"and I for fame-the two alike-
as the couple they were.

They kept exchanging words;
like just-linked-up-kinsmen;
until the moor reached their lips,
and concealed their names.
