Moving To Jos

Shalom Kasim

I moved in here last month.
So, here is what here is like:
Every time I peek from my window, the cool mountain air makes me shiver. I didn't know the mountains we read about in Geography Textbooks back in High School are so tall! Here and there, the mountains are ash-grey, with walls of fog coming down. They are mostly creased at the top and sky-piercing, with the foot of one of the mountains always covered in mist!
Then, the cold.
The cold sponges down over my skin, again and again, only to be met by the beat of my heart, again and again. The truth is, to keep warm, you just have to keep moving. The ones who stop are the ones who freeze (well, nearly no one has, yet); the victors make it home because one foot always moves in front of the other in defiance to the wind, another stubborn element.
It is always a pleasure studying the local mountain ranges intently everyday!
One of the first persons I contacted upon moving in here is Sir Abubakar Adam Ibrahim, well, because this is his place. After talking with him, I remember him saying "That’s a good place. I hope you get more inspiration to write!"
Jide Badmus told me same thing, I can’t get it verbatim, but it sounded, "You'd get a ton of inspiration there!"
One thing is, few days here, and I have beaten quite a number of my DLs and projects. This alone, if nothing, is green-light enough.
And, another interesting thing is, this place is also a centre for the construction industry and has several printing and publishing firms! Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?
