Fairer Through Fading-as The Day

Emily Dickinson

938

Fairer through Fading-as the Day
Into the Darkness dips away-
Half Her Complexion of the Sun-
Hindering-Haunting-Perishing-

Rall ies Her Glow, like a dying Friend-
Teasing with glittering Amend-
Only to aggravate the Dark
Through an expiring-perfect-look-
