True Philosophy

Edgar Albert Guest

I wouldn't count it worth my while
To sing about a rich man's smile,
Or quote a fellow, trouble free,
An' label that philosophy.

But when I look about and find
A cripple or a brother blind,
An' hear him singing songs of glee,
I want that man's philosophy.
