The Lonely Child

Gelrg Rick

Arrows fly from north to east;
Swords argue and clash beast to beast.
Mother fleeing in the rain,
Forgetting sure her handsome boy.
He sits and weep from dawn to twilight,
His eyes are swollen, puffed and scarred.

Father fighting for his realm,
Children slaying children,
Cries travel in the heights;
Well, he cries with blast
For the wellness of his life.
Days after days, there he sat
Weeping to see his mother creep.

Peace be his heart aroused,
He roars as lions tearing bats.
O’er trees and greens,
Lays he his fort in wait for his mother.
Lonely, he was,
Sitting there alone together
With himself.

The clouds and winds greeted him there,
Whilst the moon and sun waved with tears.
Branches sing in harmony,
Toad backup in the noise.
Whilst the time he saw the tall grass fling,
Hoping to find a mother’s clings.

He prays and sways in fret,
Seeing though what happens free.
His legs were seized and locked up;
Summer flogged his blunting heart.
