The Red Ink Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMN

For so long I've achedA
for so long I've yearnedB
to tear out a heart so fragileC
I've wanted it off my bossomD
to feel how it is a heart withoutE
I've longed to pen a tear jerkerF
an emission from a burning insideG
that smolders my chest emptyH
denying me the covetous heartbeatI
Now I cut my body openJ
firmly in my hands I hold my heartK
And on the white paper I let the red ink flowL
for I detest earth's appetite that's oft rejuvenatedM
craving for my shell and inkN

Poet's note: The verse addresses the contemporary environment, where socialisation has bred vulnerability. In the context of disappointments, we need not hurt ourselves, for the earth is always ready for us. Let the red ink flow on paper.
