The King Of The Night

The silent hunter
Fur like snow
Waiting to satisfy it's hunger
No warning of life to show

There! A rustle among the leaves
A sound carried by the a whisper of a wind
Barely even for two semibreves
The silent predator waited, unblind

A young doe emerges like a dancer
Graceful are her movements
The Wolf's meal is the prancer

It leapt from the shadows
Upon it's target
The prey froze
I am sure what happens next is quite clear-cut
