Diaspora

I'm searching with unfocused eyes,
Trying to clear my vision
To the images blurred by time.

The sounds are in my mind,
Though deafened, like eardrums
Shattered by time.

I try to catch up,
But I'm running in place.
I try calling out,
But nom sound escapes.

So close, but far away,
The road to Yesterday,
Can it be travelled,
Or barred along the way?

Will the pieces dispersed
Come together again,
Or are they scattered,
Lost, and come
To an end?

The mind rejects,
The heart accepts,
And only the soul
Knows the answer.
