A Woman’s Pain; She Just Wants To Be Free

Such is a woman’s pain; she just wants to be free.

They say love is a beautiful thing
But how can I love?
They say love runs from me
How do I make peace with it?

So much passion burning within me
Like a candle full of wax
It’s flame is so alive
Engulfing my heart and soul
Waiting just to explode
Who can save me?

Like a sleeping beauty
I need a Prince Charming
To quench the fire with a taste of his lips
But yet again
I’m not meant to love
It’s my punishment
Now I know it.

It’s Fighting within me like a demon
Yes my demon!
How can I forget ?

That’s the struggle of a lost soul
But whose demon can match with mine?
I await your arrival o my Romeo.
But For now I continue to sleep in hollow.

Poet's note: It’s about a woman looking for love, everytime she tries to love she ends up getting hurt, she’s crying out searching for one that can love her genuinely. I wrote this poem last night in regards to a friend of mine who keeps getting hurt by her lovers. I want the readers to feel the pains of this woman and I know that many people out there feel so trapped and lost like they can never find love. This poem comes from my heart because I’ve felt this way at some point in life.
