Sorry God

Sorry, God

I chased the world, its fleeting flame,
Forgot the whisper of Your name.
My hands grew heavy, full of pride,
Yet empty still, so deep inside.

I built my walls, I closed my eyes,
Ignored the truth, believed the lies.
But every step away from You,
Was one more wound I never knew.

Sorry, God, for all my ways,
For nights of silence, wasted days.
For turning from the light You gave,
And walking paths that led to grave.

Yet mercy waits, Your love is near,
A gentle voice I long to hear.
Restore my soul, renew my song,
With You, my heart will still belong.
