If Only Yesterday

If only yesterday could return,
Could the past still find its turn?
If I could change, if I could restrain,
I’d hold back the sorrow, erase the pain.

The laughters, and the dreams made
Moments of light that will never fade.
Yet time has stolen what once near
Leaving me haunted by echoes I hear.

If only yesterday stayed here,
A moment unbroken, forever near.
But hours slip fast, they will not remain,
And I whisper its name in silent refrain.

But yesterday lives in a fragile dream,
A fleeting shadow, a distant gleam.
Still in my heart, I keep it alive,
Hoping that somehow, it may survive.
