Freedom, Not Loss
I dimmed my light to let them stay,
I bent my soul, I gave away.
I swallowed silence, bore the sting,
Accepted less than I should bring.
Disrespect became my chain,
One‑sided love, a quiet pain.
I stayed subdued to dodge the fight,
But lost myself in endless night.
That version’s gone, it will not rise,
I’ve shed the mask, unveiled the lies.
To lose those blind to all my worth
Is freedom’s gift, a second birth.
No longer bound by hollow ties,
I walk with truth, no compromise.
I’ll never trade myself again,
For fleeting bonds or shallow friends.
My spirit stands, my voice is mine,
A brighter path, a clearer sign.
The cost of peace was breaking free,
And now I live authentically.
