At The Crossroads Of Desire
I walk a road where shadows meet,
Two paths diverge beneath my feet.
One whispers calm, a gentle stay,
A quiet life, a simpler day.
A cottage small, the silence near,
The song of peace I long to hear.
No crowds, no noise, just steady air,
A tender world without despair.
Yet in the dark, another voice,
It speaks of endings, of a choice.
When burdens rise too vast to bear,
It tempts me with a final prayer.
The weight of sorrow pulls me low,
A tide that threatens all I know.
But still within, a spark remains,
A fragile light through heavy chains.
For even nights that feel so long,
Can break to dawn, can birth a song.
And though I stand on fragile ground,
A rhythm waits to still resound.
So here I linger, torn, confined,
Between two longings in my mind.
Yet hope may bloom, though faint, though small,
A whisper saying: live through all.
