Just A Lil'...

Just a lil' something something.
A plethora of colour, beauty, to match your smile.
Just a lil' something something.
That fears nothing, not a kilometer nor a mile.

Just a lil' something somewhere.
Not lost or without reason, not missed, but found.
Just a lil' something somewhere.
A collection of splendor, like you, profound.

Just a lil' something somehow.
A token of magic, mystery, a moment in time.
Just a lil’ something somehow.
A gift of truth, expression, a feeling sublime.

Just a lil' something something.
To simply let you know, you are adored, a loud reminder.
Just a lil' something something.
To leave you with this, from me, your not-so-secret admirer.

Poet's note: This poem was written for a very special lady in my life that has stolen my heart. Moving away from South Africa to St. Helier, Jersey, to pursue her career, ironically living in the same town and sharing a few friends and acquaintances as me, our paths unfortunately never crossed, until we befriended one another via social media and her wit and sense of humor, while commenting on my shared posts, peeked my interest in her responses and made me notice her as being one that stuck out from crowded place that we all know and associate with such a social media environment. Later we began speaking, and have since then, spoken every single day for several months, solidifying a very special and magical bond over this time... a complicated one, to say the least, not an easy predicament I, and of course WE, have found ourselves in due to the distance and the restrictions this poses on a new found friendship and deep special connection (in my humble opinion of course) which possesses the foundation necessary to grow into so much more...so here I am, lost in my imagination of what could be, wishful thinking, hopeful... perhaps, but who are we if we do not dare to dream? She's worth it... my heart wishes for a romantic and magical end to the story, one of romance, where strangers meet, and faced with adversity in the form of distance and the career goals both share which may keep them separated for all of time (or will it), COVID restrictions and everything in-between, to a new possible tomorrow, a world that they finally share together, but not on the opposite ends of the earth, but hand in hand and close enough for me to feel her breath and see that sparkle in her eyes that I just know exists, all while feeling her heart beat through her fingers proving that she is not just a dream... I am a dreamer. Being 13 000 kilometers away from me, I could not find a better way to express my feelings to her, but by making a bit of an effort to make her feel special, which she is. Sent together with a bouquet of flowers, (described in the poem) a soft toy teddy (she loves these - reminds her of home and her childhood) and a box of chocolates - she loves dark chocolate, actually all sorts to be honest, but I got her the dessert kind - I thought she'd love these. Accompanying this poem and the gifts already mentioned, I included a full body massage and a meditation water capsule experience, as she works 16 hours a day and finds it extremely hard to find balance at present - my intention and wish was for her to take just a short moment to be spoilt, to feel calm and to be appreciated. I appreciate her dearly. I guess, its not what the poem means to me, but rather what she does. She embodies all of the magical and wonderful things that make my heart skip a beat and I suppose, even if we were never to be together, even if we were never to have our paths physically cross, if she could just forever remember that she is worth so much and truly an angel, then this would be enough, hard... but enough. She's a wonderful human being, one which I have truly fallen for and a person I shall always treasure and keep close to my heart. She is my little bit of magic and Just so much more.
