Edge

Night of the moon she waited,
Steps of the castle she climbed,
Stars of the sky she counted.

Waves of the sea she heard,
Song of the summer she hummed,
Chill of the night she savoured.

Thought of the dream she had,
Of a dive so deep ,
Into the void that beacons,
Promising a world of soothing dark,
Only to never see the light.

Edge of her world she stood,
Play of her life she feared,
Hush of the heart she craved,
And plunged into the dark she did.

Either to fly high or dive down!
