The Climb

I blink thrice , adjusting my sight to the
Blinding light .
I have reached the frozen peak,
Conquered the mountain.
I bled, wounded, frostbitten , afraid.
I had it all.
The voices in my head planting doubt in my heart.
I smile now I have made it

I look forward to the other side,
Ready to climb down.
Yet I will never forget the side I left behind
Each rolling stone, crushing boulder,
Rough ground ,pricking ice.
The pain I will carry , never forget it.
I smile to myself as I make my way down.
The unbearable part I defeated it.
