Sorry.

I watched you go there is no return.
Yet again another one goes.
To make you stay I need only utter one word.
Alas I am to proud,
I can not say it.
I will not say it.
I can't say it.

I follow you to the door.
Silently tracing your steps.
You look back,
Hoping to see a sign.
Sign of regret,
Sign of change.
Regret is there, change is not.

So you walk out stepping into the darkness.
I fall on the doorsteps,
Watching you disappear into the night.
I cry on my own.
I run not after you.
No, I won't follow,
No, will not beg.
I am too proud, too to say sorry.

Poet's note: This story is about how a life you built with someone can break over pride and arrogance . When you are in a relationship and you refuse to own up to actions that cause damage to your significant other but mostly yourself. This poem is dedicated to everyone I ever let down for I can truly be inconsiderate to appoint I unintentionally hurt people and refuse to apologize . So I want them to understand that I do feel sorry and pain for them but sorry is always the hardest thing to say.
