Backup Dancer

I wanted to try something different
Although nobody wanted to listen
I said "Screw it ill do it anyway"
This one stupid sentence led my life to dismay

For the whole year I practiced antsy for the payoff
But my team saw me as garbage and put me down soft
I always would put in 110 percent
But they treated me like I was less than a cent

I tried to show them that I was ready
But they ignored me when their game was off and mine was steady
I remember when called off starters and I was hopeful for an answer
But no to all of them Im just a backup dancer
