The Irish Chaplain

In an instant, he checks his clock
wondered whether they will come in time
its not the first time he has done it

'life is an extraordinary cycle
you just never know whether it will be today or tomorrow'
he rehearses, but he still wonders how he will put it

But he has to pray
the boy died young, killed in cold blood
as he fought for what he called his rights

no other priest had the bravery to send the young man
to the after life, the there he was, The irish Priest
But as i look at him, i wonder.

can he do it?
or its too unfair to stand. it hurts
not for me, but for him.
