Lamb Of God, Lion Of Judah

Cosy dwellings could not cradle humility,
A smelly manger did;
Vintage wisdom left sages agape,
Matchless love mended bleeding hearts,
And the power that rigged the universe
Shredded nature's pride
With just a word, a touch, or a wave of the hand.
But He was just a Lamb -
So there came the Cross, the tomb,
And two nights of battle;
Then the Lamb turned Lion,
Broke free of dust and corruption,
With trophies in hand,
Leaving the old serpent
Peering forlornly into an empty tomb!
