If I Had One More Moment
You were always the one on my side. I remember staying awake just to wait for you to come home so you could take me out. It was our little routine, and you were never too tired for me. Those small moments were our happiness.
Then time passed. I grew up and moved miles away from you, but not a single day passed without me remembering those moments and the love we shared.
When we met again, it felt a little strange. I wasn’t a child anymore—just someone older, busy with life. Still, whenever you needed me, I tried to be there, even if sometimes I wasn’t truly present.
In your last days you called for me, and I wasn’t there. That regret stays with me. I wish I could have held your hand and told you not to worry, that everything would be okay.
Now all I have are memories—sweet ones that bring tears every time I think of you. You were the pillar of our family, and losing you left a space that can never truly be filled. I miss you, and in my memories you will always live.

Poet's note: This poem is in memory of my grandfather (Nana). I lost him recently, and I miss him so much. The pain I tried to express through words in this poem.
