I Would Rather....

Enlighten me about life,
Breathe in me the Oxygen
That I need to fight and fend for my future,
Give me tools to withstand this agony and sorrow.

Here and there, my life keeps on
ranging like a wild storm,
Gone are the days where our parents
Stood firm to sheild us with their wings.
It's now time to pursue my spirit of bravery.

To make sure I get on my feet,
And will not be sure how this will end
But I shall see where my future will take me to a ride to,
And hoping that I do not die like a cute innocent lion cub in my own forest of ideas.

Poet's note: This poem is reflecting to the youth of my nation that do not know of how and what the future holds for them because of the reluctancy of the Government to take heed of their needs.Left to wonder how life will be after the pandemic crisis that has scared the whole world to death this putting a stop on Education system, the youths are left with no choice but to advantage of their brains to make ends meet. I would like to impose my feeling of sympathy forwards the students that have suffered a destruction in their career life and in the same way to awaken the youth to make use of their creative minds to find what to do better other than waiting for a repeated bell of "No School This Year". And to also our parents to encourage and support their children to what they come up with. I wrote this poem basing on the need to also give myself an awakening call that, "No one will help unless I do help myself first".
