In Your Presence

In your presence,
All words elude me;
Like a bird’s nest disturbed or a beehive ruffled,
My words fly up
And never return.

Like a blind man groping for the door,
I searched the interstices of my dreams,
For a word, a shape, a speck of light,
That sparks the darkness of my mind.

In your presence
I feel the pull of a million magnets.
And the beats which well up in your veins,
Have my heart as their biggest loudspeaker.
