Tears Of Africa

Our tears are made of onion rings,
And some bad karaoke things,
For our leaders are quite a sight,
As they dance to songs each night.

We cry for the food that's gone,
And for the power that they've won,
But we hope for a brighter day,
When we can eat and dance and play.

Oh corruption, what a curse,
But we brush it off with some bants and verse,
For we know we'll get through this mess,
And our leaders will learn to confess.

So let's laugh, sing and dance,
And maybe give our leaders a chance,
For our tears may be full of strife,
But we know we'll live an amazing life!

Poet's note: We feel sorrow for the lack of food and power our leaders have taken, but we remain hopeful for a better future. We use humor and poetry to cope with the corruption that has been inflicted upon us. We will not give up, and instead choose to laugh, sing, and dance in order to make the most of our lives.
